We often talk on this blog about stars of the world of football having hair transplants.
Last week, it was the West Ham manager Slaven Bilic who was such a breath of fresh air as a pundit for ITV during the Euro Football Championship.
Bilic bravely went on screen just weeks after his hair transplant when the scarring at the front of his scalp was still clearly visible.
Today we can talk about another football legend who has transformed his appearance with a hair transplant.
We all remember the silky skills of the former Manchester United and Spurs striker, Dimitar Berbatov, who made such a big impression when he played in the Premiership.
In those days, the Bulgarian international, now playing for Monaco in France, had fairly advanced male pattern baldness, as you can see from this picture of him taken before he decided to go under the knife and restore the hair around the front of his scalp.
The transformation in Berbatov’s appearance since his transplant (or transplants: he may well have had more than one) is remarkable. He looks years younger and has a fine head of hair.
You can see more pictures of him here – before and after the procedure.
At Crown Clinic we love working with stars of the world of sport.
Our surgeon Asim Shahmalak has worked with several Premiership footballers – most of whom would rather not publicise the fact that they have had a procedure.
However, some have gone public – most recently Didi Hamann, the former Liverpool, Newcastle and Man City midfielder who is now a respected pundit for Sky and the BBC, spoke to the media about his hair transplant at Crown Clinic.
He said he had decided to bolster his hair so he would look better on TV.
He is not the first celebrity to see help from Dr Shahmalak to reverse the effects of ageing. The model Calum Best, TV doctor Christian Jessen and Homes Under The Hammer star Martin Roberts have all had successful procedures at Crown Clinic.
