Why travel for a hair transplant?

Dublin hair transplants may be available, but you won’t receive quite the level of professionalism, care and guidance we offer at Crown Clinic. This is why a bit of extra travel is necessary to achieve your desired hair thickness and look. Dr Shahmalak will make you feel in safe hands with the expert knowledge and care he uses for all the procedures he completes.

Duration of stay in Manchester & London

Depending on the type of hair transplant you’ve had, you’ll need to stay in Manchester or London for a designated period to ensure optimal recovery. The average recuperation time for a hair transplant is 7 to 10 days, but you won’t have to stay away from home for this long.

Once you’re fit to travel, you can return home to Dublin. Here we will discuss, in more detail, the recovery times for each type of hair transplant and how to apply that to the length of your trip to each city.

Procedures available at Crown Clinic and recovery time

Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT) hair transplant

FUT hair transplants are a popular and permanent solution to many types of hair loss. The recovery time for FUT hair transplants varies from around 1-2 weeks. It’s advisable to take 7 to 10 days off work after the procedure, if possible – although if you have a manual job, 14 days is recommended. We also advise that you don’t partake in any strenuous activities during your recovery period.

Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) hair transplant

Many of our patients opt for FUE transplants as their chosen procedure. The recovery time for FUE hair transplant is usually 1-2 weeks. Just like FUT transplants, taking 7 to 10 days off work is recommended, with that increasing to 14 days for a manual job. It’s important to rest and recuperate and not partake in extreme activities during the post-FUE hair transplant recovery period.
