When beginning your hair restoration journey, you will be consulted by an experienced member of staff with the involvement of the surgeon at an early stage. The pros and cons of your options will be examined with you, so that you are in a position to make an informed choice around your treatment options.
Procedure
There are two types of procedures when it comes to hair transplants for women. These are an FUT hair transplant and an FUE hair transplant. Which one is best for you will be discussed with you during the consultation stage.
On the day of your procedure, you’ll be welcomed into our clinic by a member of our friendly team. We’ll make sure you’re situated in a private patient recovery room, where you’ll be able to change into your gown and enjoy complementary food and drink.
How long your procedure will take depends on the type of procedure you choose and the number of grafts used. Most of our clients are in and out within a day.
Your procedure will be split into two halves; the first will be extraction, where the grafts are extracted from the donor area. The second part of the procedure takes place in the afternoon and focuses on the placement of the grafts into the treatment area.
Aftercare
Once the procedure is complete, you’ll be given clear aftercare instructions and a care package to take home. This includes clear instructions as well as products to help you take good care of the treatment and donor area.
Within 24 hours, you will notice small crusts forming on each graft that are then shed in approximately 14-28 days. The grafted hairs will often start to grow around 16-20 weeks after the procedure and will continue to grow as normal.
