Crown Clinic surgeon shortlisted for a top award

Crown Clinic’s surgeon Asim Shahmalak is delighted to be shortlisted for a major award.

Asim has been nominated for the Man of the Year award at the Fusion Awards in Blackburn at the end of May.

The Fusion Awards recognise outstanding contributions to society by volunteers, charity champions and entrepreneurs.

Asim has been shortlisted for his humanitarian work in Pakistan.

Regular readers of this blog will know that last year Asim took a team from Crown Clinic to provide hair transplants for acid attack victims in Karachi.

Asim performed hair transplants, eyebrow transplants and eyelash transplants  on six women who had been horrifically attacked with acids.

He funded the trip himself – providing all the surgery for free – and trained local medics in the procedures so that they could carry on his work in the long-term.

He has identified new acid attack victims in Pakistan and is planning a second trip later this year.

He is really looking forward to the Fusion Awards which are being held in Blackburn on May 30 and he passes on his warmest congratulations to all those who have been nominated.
