From the first meeting with Mr Shahmalak I felt at ease + confident with Mr Shahmalak. The consultant rooms at Harley Street + clinic at Manchester are of excellent quality, as was the hotel I was put up in Manchester. Mr Shahmalak + all his staff were very friendly, confident + extremely professional at all times, always checking I was ok or needed anything. The procedure itself was a walk in the park totally pain free, + two days post op I am totally painless + swelling is nearly gone.

From my initial consultation, I was impressed by the professional manner of the team and I felt at ease with the team at Crown Clinic Manchester.
Initially dealing with Afshan over the phone and then meeting Mr Asim Shahmalak at my consultation. He was very clear about the options available to me and gave me his valued opinion on what would best work for me based on his extensive experience.
Afshan then went through everything afterwards to confirm my understanding and I left feeling happy and I took some time to decide whether I would go ahead, as advised.This consultation was my best experience, after doing a lot of research across companies that offer hair restoration and surgery and I subsequently felt comfortable and happy to proceed and I went ahead with booking my surgery.
Everything was well organized throughout my whole experience, with an easy guide to assist you to prepare pre-surgery and the arrangements for the hotel stay all pre-arranged.
On the day of the surgery, everything ran smoothly and all the team were very welcoming and kind in their approach. Rosa greeted me and showed me to the Patients room. I then ran through the full procedure and what to expect with Mr Shahmalak. The whole team (Rosa, Alex, Kendra, Sarah and possibly 1 other?) worked hard and were very efficient, whilst always remaining kind and attentive throughout.
They continually monitored my progress and I felt as comfortable as possible, watching films and talking with the team. There was a pleasant atmosphere and at times I felt more like I was at a relaxing spa-type experience, rather than a surgical procedure, with all the attention I received.
I have wanted to undergo this procedure for a long time and I was very pleased when I discovered Crown clinic. Along with the positive way, I felt when I initially met the team and discussed the options, which were exactly what I was looking for, it was the testimonials and endorsement by well-known figures such as Dr Christian Jessen and Callum Best that really gave me the extra confidence I was looking for.
Post-surgery has gone very smoothly and the very thorough ‘fools guide to the required ‘post-operative instructions’ show you how to care for your hair and scalp is excellent and very simple to follow.
I would recommend Crown to anyone and will do so in the future. I am really excited about the results. Watch this space!

After considering hair restoration surgery for a number of years I decided to carry out some major research on all aspects of the subject. I then decided to take the plunge and book myself a consultation. I opted for the Crown Clinic as the idea of having a chat with the actual surgeon who would carry out the procedure seemed the way forward. Not only that, but the surgeon in question was world-leading surgeon Dr Shahmalak with an incredible reputation. The consultation was quite short, though he did answer all my questions. One has to remember that unlike seeing a business manager, which is normally the case, who may have time to talk much longer, Dr Shahmalak is very busy carrying out procedures on patients, yet still manages to fit in consultations at opportune times, during his patients break periods etc.
The information pack I was given on leaving the clinic was very informative. I did have another consultation after this at a different clinic which lasted over an hour. The cost of the FUE procedure here would have been substantially less, but in spite of this, there was only one place that wanted the procedure carried out, and that was at Crown Clinic. It just had to be Dr Shahmalak and nobody else.
The night before the procedure I felt a bit nervous, but once I arrived at the clinic and received a big smile and friendly greeting from Afshan and the calming influence of Dr Shahmalak I knew I would be fine – and I was right!
The FUE procedure went extremely well, it was quite a mega session lasting 1 ½ days, but it soon went in. The anaesthetic injections were a bit painful, but only lasted a few minutes, apart from this, everything else went like a dream. Dr Shahmalak and his wonderful team looked after me so well. They were friendly, caring and considerate, especially Johanna, and together with Afshan the clinic manager, such a lovely person and so professional throughout, made the whole experience a very enjoyable one.
I would say to anyone that is considering hair restoration if you’re unhappy with your hair and it’s affecting your confidence, if you can afford it and want peace of mind and the best possible job done, then have some bottle and see Dr Shahmalak! You won’t regret it!!
