Duration of stay in Manchester & London
It is recommended that you stay in Manchester or London for a short period of time after your hair transplant to ensure a full recovery. The average recuperation time for a hair transplant is 7 to 10 days, but you shouldn’t be required to stay away from home for that length of time. Once you’re fit to travel, you can return home to Scotland.
In the next section, we will further discuss the recovery times for each type of hair transplant and how to apply that to the length of your trip to each city.
Procedures available at Crown Clinic and recovery time
Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT) hair transplant
FUT hair transplants are a popular hair loss solution amongst our patients. They usually have a recovery period of around 1-2 weeks. We advise that you take 7 to 10 days off work after the procedure. If you have a manual job, this should be extended to 14 days, as it is recommended that you don’t partake in any strenuous activities during your recovery period.

Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) hair transplant
Many of our patients opt for an FUE transplant to solve their hair loss issues. The recovery time for FUE hair transplants is usually 1-2 weeks. Taking 7 to 10 days off work is recommended, with that increasing to 14 days for a manual job. Rest and recuperation are vital for the hair transplant process, as any damage post procedure could result in inefficient results. Therefore, it’s important not to partake in extreme activities during the post-FUE hair transplant recovery period.
