Check out the three pictures of Hollywood star John Travolta on this page.
The 63-year-old has gone through a pretty remarkable hair transformation.
The picture of Travolta with fairly advanced male pattern baldness was taken in his gym two years ago.
Flash forward two years and he has a virtually full head of hair.
The close-up of the roots of his hair shows that this is NOT a hairpiece and the Pulp Fiction star has transformed his appearance with several hair transplants.
We must congratulate the team behind Travolta’s procedures because they have achieved remarkable change over the past two years.
John Travolta’s Hair Transplant
The star will almost certainly have had several FUE (follicular unit extraction) transplants– where individual grafts are removed from the back and side of the scalp and then replanted in the balding areas (in Travolta’s case that is the whole of the top of his scalp).
It is unlikely that a star such as Travolta would have opted for the more traditional method of hair transplantation – FUT (follicular unit transplantation). This is where a strip of skin is cut from the scalp to harvest the grafts.
Travolta would have needed several transplants, and the removal of the strips would have resulted in a fair bit of scarring on the star’s scalp.
This scarring probably would not have been noticeable once the scarring had healed because Travolta, more often than not, wears his hair fairly long and his hair would cover up the visual impact of the scarring.
But if he chose to shave his head in future – perhaps for a new part in a movie – you would be able to see the scars.
That is why FUE would be preferable to Travolta.
Several celebrities have opted for FUE transplants with Crown Clinic’s surgeon Asim Shahmalak. They include the model Calum Best, Gogglebox star Chris Steed, Homes Under The Hammer presenter Martin Roberts and the football pundit Didi Hamann.
The TV doctor Christian Jessen has had two transplants using the FUT method at Crown Clinic.
All our celebrities, like anyone who comes to Crown Clinic for a hair transplant, got fantastic results.
Hair loss is a continual process and hair transplantion often has to be used in conjuction with non-surgical treatments to achieve the best results.
