Crown Clinic’s surgeon Asim Shahmalak is honoured to be featured in Tatler magazine’s new Beauty and Cosmetic Surgery Guide for 2015.
He is one of only 40 surgeons across the whole cosmetic surgery industry who were invited to be included in the guide.
Yes, that is right: this guide is by invitation only.
You cannot apply to be in it or pay a fee to be featured.
Tatler only features the very cream of the UK’s cosmetic surgery talent.
Dr Shahmalak, who was a general surgeon in the NHS before going into private practice, is the only hair loss surgeon featured in the Guide.
It is no exaggeration to say that the Tatler Guide is the most prestigious Guide of its kind in the UK.
Surgeons everywhere long to be called by the Tatler team.
Tatler is very rigorous in its approach.
All the surgeons featured in the new Guide – and there are only 40 in total across a variety of disciplines – were recommended to Tatler.
A researcher from the Tatler team then visits each clinic and recommended checking that it lives up to its billing.
One of the Tatler team interviewed Dr Shahmalak last year and made extensive checks on the whole Crown Clinic operation.
They clearly liked what they found because Tatler has done a wonderful write up on Asim’s brilliant team.
The guide says simply that Dr Shahmalak is ‘Best For Hair Loss.’ He is the only hair transplant surgeon in the UK featured in the guide.
It goes on: “The handsome and newly hirsute Calum Best and Dr Christian Jessen are the poster boys for Dr Shahmalak’s considerable talents in hair transplanting.”
The guide highlights the growing number of women visiting Crown Clinic.
It says: “He (Dr Shahmalak) reports a rise in demand from women wanting eyebrow and eyelash transplants, thanks to Cara Delevingne, who has flipped the fashion for overplucked brows into a bushier look. These use hairs taken from the back of the head, which are planted onto the eyelid or brow bone.”
You can pick up a copy of the Tatler Guide free with March’s edition of the magazine, on sale in all good newsagents now.
It will be appearing online in the next month.
